I am so sorry if this comes off as rude but I always have HGTV on . I fall asleep at night with it on and today I was taking a nap and had it on and a show came on called Love it or List it . For the first time ever HGTV picked a very bad show . Very bad acting on this show . I hope you reconsider airing this show . It honestly is a very bad show . Other than that , I love HGTV

Most of them need to sell their existing home first. It is highly likely that the other property they are interested in will be gone by the time they sell.

I find all the parties on this show to be nasty. The designer doesn't clear things with the homeowners before she rips up the room and then has to make expensive changes. The homeowners are always cranky and don't communicate well with the two "stars". The real estate agent doesn't have much to offer. I find the whole thing irritating and distasteful. there is nothing at all charming here. I hope it does not last on HGTV.
Real designers work with a contract. So this show isn't real. It's just HGTV's weird idea for a show and has nothing to do with hiring a professional designer.

Charles, I caught this yesterday for the first time - and, may I say, the last! I'm wondering if the labor costs are included - yesterday they were redoing that money pit house for the young couple w/ the new baby. They had a $50,000 budget and ended up having to totally rewire the house, tear out all sorts of things that were rotted and then they suddenly ended up with a really cool space. I just worked on a complete renovation of a 3/2 ranch style house for a client where we ran into all sorts of problems, gutted the kitchen and most of one bath, new flooring, some walls, new lighting, etc - and I'm having a hard time believing they did all that work for the stated budget on yesterday's show. As you say, tho, it isn't "real" - just irritates me that they are 1) being so unrealistic and 2) showing such unprofessional and nasty people on there masquerading as professionals.

This show is not one of my favorite either but---the show about selling in NY and the real estate people on that show UGH! Those are the nastiest human beings I have ever seen or listened to. I hope they are just role playing and that is not what they are really like. I wouldn't buy dog food from any of them on that show.

To LYNDA 5....I also love 'Designed to Sell' & 'Get it Sold' including the friendly, entertaining casts ! I often wonder where Lisa LaPorter is, what she is doing and Tanya Nayak, too? Am I watching reruns of John Giddens designing or are these new episodes, as he also does Curb Appeal. What an amazing talent & such a natural star for these shows. I'm new to this site as of today so am hoping they do have updates of their designers located somewhere. Meanwhile Sabrina Soto seems to be doing it all, & most enjoyably too. (I also miss very much Sarah Richardson and her shows, "Sarah's House" etc)!

retiredintampa, Here is a link to Sarah Richardson's Webpage. There is a lot of info there. It also says that her show, Sarah's House 4 will air on HGTV in April.
This show needs to go. I don't believe the designer ever heard the term "duty of care" or understands a businesses obligation to perform their duties after sufficient investigation. I find it utterly distasteful that a network that hosts so many shows advocating researching before attempting projects, home inspections before purchasing, and the importance of investigating contractors, airs a show that has a designer who begins demolition prior to completing sufficient investigation on the whole scoop of work to be done. In each episode, finding out after beginning demolition about permitting regulations, and structural issues, to name only a few, that make the complete scoop of the project impossible, some of which were the main basis for the remodel attempt.
this show ***** ... come on HGTV you can do better than that.. get the old ones back . trading spaces .. who in there right mind would start a renovation and spend **$ if they are going to end up buying a new house . do they get that money back... dumb show
Ive watched this show a few times, simply because I couldnt find anything else, and I think Im just going to have to stop. The hosts are irritating ,and it seems like the only kind of people they have on this show are rude and unreasonable.Id think they'd all be ashamed after watching themselves at how obnoxious they are

I've seen this a few times and won't watch anymore. Has there ever been a show where Hillary actually does all the work that she promises people? And so predictable. Don't even bother watching the first 2 houses David shows them....the third one is going to be the good one.
And just the idea that they start tearing the crud out of someones home without checking basic issues such as zoning, plumbing and all just makes them appear unprofessional.
Promise to expand the foot print of the house and THEN find out you can't get permit.
Expand living space and THEN discover you would have to upgrade HVAC to handle it?
Love HGTV - Hate Love it List It!! I am also growing wearing of hosts with foreign accents - the Brits sound like they have a speech impediment to me!! Very hard to understand.
I love the outside yard shows and now I am so upset with all of the changes and the new yard designers. AWFUL! I want Ahmad back! These new people have so many social problems and snotty attitudes I am afriad that I am going to stop watching HGTV yard crashers or designers or whatever new dumb shows that have taken away my old favorites!I know some are not HGTV but all of these shows are changing and not for the better.
