I think creating or repurposing objects which have little or no value into something useable is becoming trendy. There are posters on the T2T forum who sell items of furniture and decor such as this. Sometimes their buyers are interior decorators from large cities. It's all part of the "Environmental movement" also known as the "be kind to Ma Nature and keep stuff out of the landfills movement". This will IMO become more socially acceptable and trendy in the very near future as Earth's tolerance for increasing junk decreases.

Admittedly there is a fine line between trendy and tacky in this style.

There are over 200 pics on the T2T album at the Shutterfly link in my siggie line.

    Question:
Do you think trash to treasure items are tacky or trendy at the present time or likely to gain in popularity?

    Choices:
I love trash to treasure and use it in my home
T2T is becoming trendy but not in my home
    T2T is sometimes OK
T2T has always been tacky and will always be tacky
I have never heard of trash to treasure before

Some projects look fabulous, but some projects look more like a craft project. I would have no problem purchasing some of these, but I would not find something and re-purpose it myself.

I like repurposing things but I require that it looks a certain way. Don't know how to describe what I look for but I know what tacky looks like and I try to stay away from it, lol! My solution for a lot of repurposing I do is black paint, it does wonders....

I like the photo album, good idea!

i love t2t. so creative; so imaginative. and it suits my casual style. of course, not every piece will have appeal but isn't that true of any style?

I was one of the "sometimes" votes.

I like T2T items a great deal - but I like them mixed in with other things. I like a very eclectic mix of T2T, modern/contemporary and traditional.

For me, all one style or all one really strong theme in a room kind of makes a room yell at me. I prefer whispers of different things here and there. Big Grin

I love T2T, like to create things and also have it in my home.

But what I really love is that you can mix it in with contemporary.

Everyone seems to appreciate a good, well-placed and creative T2T piece in their home.

I do have to admit I have seen tacky though.

    Blessings, Cara
