Design Remix was much more entertaining than FYS. Karen was even more fabulous in that show. She still identified their design by just evaluating their things and the purpose of the room. That was the most creative use of design and something we all learned from, i.e., looking at our own "leftovers" in a new light. I was always amazed at the end result, from scraps no less. FYS is just such a yawn compared to Remix and under-utilizes Karen's abilities. Please HGTV bring back Remix!

You know HW, these are two of my favorite shows. I really love Design Remix just for the reasons you stated, including the fact that she only used $50 and some paint. And of course I loved Ian and Danielle also, even though Danielle is on Color Splash now. I think they are still making Remix shows because I thought they just had new ones last month. They were even kidding Danielle about being on the other show. What I don't like about ALL the HGTV shows is their formula writing for each series. Like I stated above "with just $50 and some paint we can turn this out of date hole in the wall into a castle!" "Can you see what their style is?" etc.
Replying to Madamary: I agree. But I wonder if the show is just too demanding - what a lot of thought and work for the designer, even more than the shows where they start from scratch and add all new things. Also, I am amused and annoyed! - when the homeowners think they actually did their own decorating, when in fact it was almost always Karen's ideas they chose, not their own! She manages to convince them it was all them! Surely they figure that out when they watch the episode later on TV. Design Remix was way better and so creative.

Although I agree with the above posts that Design Remix was a great show, I have to disagree about FYS. I LOVE that show and have learned so much about my own sense of style and how to shop for my own home. Every time I shop I now think about my "elements" before deciding on a purchase and have found that I'm returning things a lot less! I think Karen does a great job, whatever show she's on!
Although I enjoyed Find Your Style and it has helped me in some of my decisions but I too loved Design Remix. I think Karen is a great host and if HGTV won't bring her back to one of those shows, let her host a new one.
