I've been working on converting my house from a traditional style to a very modern, sleek, museum type of space. The one room that stumps me is the water closet in the Master Bathroom. It is just too plain. It's 3'x6' and I've changed the floor to silver travertine tumbled marble. There's a 2-door cherry cabinet above the new Kohler Saile toilet. No window, only a ceiling light fixture. When guests come, we also make this bathroom available to them, but I want this room to POP...to be memorable...but MODERN. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. It's difficult to find design pictures of just plain old water closets online. Thank you!
Since this area is small and keeping the modern vibe you seek, consider adding contemporary wall decals for a graphic statement to the walls. TYPOGRAPHY in black letters of differing scales and styles could also be used for wall interest. Optionally, create a gallery wall of framed prints or enlarged photographs to the walls. A slim, tall piece of modern sculpture sitting on a pedestal might fit in a corner.
