More and more in recent years, I am seeing "overselling" by the seller or Realtor. I have gotten to the point of, after the introduction...asking...can we just walk through the home? Is that okay. Buyers don't need to see every draw that glides and how much room is at the back of what appears to be a stuffed closet. Not to mention following an agent or seller into a bathroom that we all cannot fit in to. Remember overselling can be an overkill. Now of course this isn't always the case, the most professional agents know this. AND thank goodness for locboxes. I think the biggest oversell experience I have ever had was when a seller said to us was when we were walking out the door.. .."and if you bring me a contract within 48 hours.. I'll knock another $5,000 off the price. That was right after the buyer said to me ...let's make an offer on this one. This message has been edited. Last edited by: real estate lady,

Oh, REL, I so hate it when the listing agent or a pushy owner is present for a showing. I know some seller's are paranoid and think we are going to rob them blind, but you really don't get to relax while showing the property. I really steer away from visiting broker open houses. OMG! I hate smiling and being nice to the other agent when all you want is out of there.

Great job! With your very first post you broke the rules of the forum. Are you that conscientious with the Realtor's code in your business?

________________ And I think he meant to say: "Yeah (comma) that's so true (period) It's (capital I, letter t, apostrophe, letter s ~ to imply the contraction "it is" instead of the possessive "its") really very irritating when the owner is present (t-h-e-r-e instead of "their.") I usually never comment on spelling/grammar here on the boards as we are all here just to have fun and it's a bit relaxed re proper language BUT, Derek, if you are going to break all of the rules of this message board to advertise your company? Think they might it appreciate it more if you represented them in a professional fashion.

Speaking of grammar and spelling, am I the only one who gets a little crazy when the house description (supposedly written by a real estate professional) talks about the "dinning" room?

LOL, another message board I frequent deals with people who love cruise ships. It is funny how many people will post about the "dinning" room.

Haha..years ago I think in the 90's there was an issue about the "master bedroom". It was changed by law and we then had to call it something else..I forget what it was. As time went by it went back to the "master bedroom".

Back when we bought our house in Virginia, the realtor and I went to a house where the buyer showed us around. It was unnerving!! She offered that she would replace all the carpets with whatever I wanted, and since she didn't work, she would be available if I wanted to schedule any contractors in. I RAN from that house....... I felt like she was completely desparate (which was odd, since it was at the ramp up of the house sales in that area - everything was being snapped up quickly with multiple offers....). Creepy.....
