My husband and I are first time home buyers using an FHA loan. The house we are in the process of buying has insulbrick siding. It's an old insulation siding that is no longer used. There is an area that has deteriorated and the FHA appraisal is requiring that we fix this. (We are making all FHA fixes, not the seller). We eventually want to do new siding, but need a quick and easy way to cover/fix the insulbrick that will pass for the FHA appraisal. Does anyone have any experience with this material and and or/ FHA requirements?

To my knowledge buyers are not allowed to do repairs before closing on standard FHA203B. If you are doing a FHA203K RENO loan the appraisal takes in consideration
of the estimates for repairs, you close on the property, and the repair money is escrowed at closing for repairs completed after closing delegated by you through the FHA approved repair servicers.
