I guess I need a name change: I am no longer SML4Sale but as of 5:00 EST today I am SML-SOLD!
We were under a relo contract so technically DH's company sold our house, but we were still living in it most of the 14 months it was on the market, so it still counts. We're more relieved than excited, though. We painted, decluttered, staged, assisted with marketing, and cleaned every day... and the place went under contract less than a week after we moved out and left it vacant. Go figure.
The buyer paid all cash, and we had a 3-week close. Our agents said our home inspection was the cleanest they had ever seen. There were minor issues, but the agents took care of them as we were out of state by then.
And now we're "home free"!

I love it, Daisy!!! Thanks to you, and thanks to all previous posters for all the well wishes. Great song to celebrate to; it made me think of the check we'll be getting from the relo company soon for the remainder of our equity money - not so much the money itself as the symbolism that the selling part is over!
Yes, we're all settled in our rental. Nice place, more space than we really need, but it has a bit of an awkward layout. Our daughter thinks its divine, which sure made the move go easier. We miss our house in Virginia a lot, but we are glad it didn't sit vacant for long.
We've gone to a couple open houses here, but I don't see us buying before next summer. Prices are still high here, and we want a layout somewhat similar to our last house (but with a bigger garage), which is not easy to find around here.
It isn't easy being a buyer OR a seller in this market, so good luck to all who are in either position.
