We are supposed to leave the house we are selling broom clean but I am really not sure what that means. The buyers aren't moving in for two months so it will get dusty and such. I was having regular cleaning service while we were showing but had the last one a week before our move out date.

Everything clean, including all flooring. The final walk thru inspection usually verifies this.

I've always understood "broom clean" to mean swept but not scrubbed. There shouldn't be trash or dirt lying around on the counters or floors, but you don't need to mop or deep clean anything.

I have the same understanding as Tanya. "Broom clean" is swept or vacuumed, no trash or debris on the floor. You don't have to deep clean carpets or scrub floors, though.

    Ditto what SML4Sale said.
