How many showings on average are you getting per week or month? In my area, the average is 2-3 showings/month (horrible I know). How about you?

I've been getting one showing a week. That number has been pretty consistent since the house first went on the market. Go figure.

I am looking forward to reading other responses. From what I've read on these boards I've heard everything from 3 per day to one a month.

We've been on the market 3 weeks - zero showings. But we are rural, lake home that will probably sell as a vacation home and it has rained every weekend. (I'm trying to keep a good outlook Wink)

It would be good to know where the homes are located (at least state) and whether rural, suburb, etc.

Hi I just registered so that I could answer this post. I am anxious to see what others are getting in the way of showings too!

We are in the Chicago area suburbs. We are selling a townhouse that backs up to a car dealership Frown. We have had 19 showings in 39 days, but nothing in the last 8 days. Seems interest may have cooled. We did have a lowball offer on the 5th day.

Metwo - are you the one who was having trouble selling because your signs kept disappearing?

But that's just my 2 cents!

Gee, Gail, what a timely question as the signs disappeared this week. Smile But NO I am not the one whose signs keep disappearing. Ours get taken twice a year usually (this is our 3rd summer on the market) by the highway dept but the realtor expects that.

We were on the market for about 60 days and had over 60 showings in that time. Some days and weeks were busier than others (I had some weeks with 2 showings, then another week I'd have 5 in a single day).

I must say, though, that I think we had a lot of looky-loos and unqualified buyers come through because we were at a very low pricepoint for this otherwise expensive area. I also think we got a lot of "spillover" visits from the other 4 homes that were on the market with in a very small radius of ours. We were by far the smallest but in the best condition. I think we weren't on people's list, but when they saw us when they were up in the neighborhood looking at the other homes, they'd come to us too. That wasn't a great thing though, because usually that meant they were looking for 3 or 4 beds (which is what the other houses had) so our 2 just didn't work for them.

In the end, our buyer came with an agent from another town. I believe they'd been looking in another town and then found us at a pricepoint they didn't think was available here (which is the exact same thing that happened to us when we bought!).

Good luck and hang in there. Hope things start happening real soon!!!
