Property Brothers help
We are about to put in an offer on a rental property. I would love to have the property brothers come and help us figure out how to fix it up. Right now it looks horrible. It is hard for me to imagine it fixed up.

Debra, the PB are actors who utilize off-camera realtors, gc's and designers. (See multiple threads under Favorite Shows, above.) I would recommend that you work with appropriate professionals in your own local area.

When you say "fix it up", do you mean actual construction or only design/cosmetic work? Is this your first rental property?

Landlords usually increase their rates of return by limiting their investment and doing only minimal, cosmetic work to make properties habitable for tenants, rent them faster and increase gross rental income by significant amounts. If this property needs major renovations, I would suggest you pass on making an offer and continue your search.

If you're trying to avoid the expense of local professionals, you might start by providing the mls link (with photos) and/or posting other photos of the property here for feedback.

Good Luck! JMHO, BTW.

thanks for the post - It just needs cosmetic work. I love how the property brothers and the guy on the investment property shows people what it "could" look like. I guess my imagination doesn't work that good. I know it could be fixed up to look very nice.
Thanks for the info.

Seriously - Actors? That just seems wrong! Even the contractor brother is just an actor? He swings a sledge hammer!

I agree with the suggestion to post a link or pics of the property.
I own rental properties, it is amazing what a coat of paint will do, also new flooring or some brushed nickel pull or knobs, also light fixtures are cheap easy fixes.

That's right, Christy, according to their bios and other info regarding the show's production. It isn't tough to swing a sledge hammer for 1 scene, IMHO.

Incidentally, they use local gc's. The info's in multiple threads under Favorite Shows.
