OK - YEAH!!!! The seller's bank FINALLY approved the short sale.. We're finalizing our mortgage application (our bank worked all weekend with us on everything - never heard of that working with banks - LOVE her...... We aiming for a 5 October close so that we have time to do some work before we have to move in.... Please - everyone think good thoughts for us!!! Idaho, I've told Wayne that he needs to stay out of my hair until we're in - he's unmanageable......!!!!
Debi - So glad to hear that things are moving forward - keep it moving - please move fast as I have come up with a scheme to keep Wayne corralled for a few days - but as you know, it's difficult to hang onto him for very long!
I've been dangling the carrot and he is deciding on which songs to sing - I can only hang onto him so long - unless you want me to truss him up and leave him to figure how to free himself - your choice!
PS. Congrats on making the next move forward! Can't wait to see you post that your new home is your's!This message has been edited. Last edited by: Idaho Resident,
Idaho - he's locking in on the list of songs.... Wow, never good news for us! Tsr - the delay seemed to be alot in the negotiator's bucket, but then it took a bit longer with the investor (maybe the investor was on a deserted island, and they had to get to them by carrier pigeon.....). I'm assuming I'll never know what was really going on. Now lining up all the contractors to get pricing for all the work that needs to get done, and figure out when to have our furniture delivered..... I must say one of the least painful parts was applying for our mortgage - our banker worked all weekend (I swear, we spoke to her about 20 times over Saturday and Sunday), and she got it in on Sunday (therefore setting us up for a fast closing). She was amazing - and she works at a big bank!!!!! Go figure! . I go by the house every day to tell it that we're going to be there soon
Agree, Debi, you'll probably never know what caused the delay. You may, however, get some inkling after the closing.
Glad the bank's loan agent helped you out. Incidentally, they're normally part of the banks' sales staff and partially compensated by commission so weekend work isn't that unusual.
Best to you. Hoping for an easy, peasy closing. JMHO, as usual.
Thank you! I'm getting estimates now for the work I want to get done right after we closed, and I had enough confidence to schedule my furniture delivery (giving myself 2 weeks to get work done in the house before furniture arrives)....
OK. We closed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! . My realtor hung with me and we finally got through the closing. We closed on Friday, and I had contractors in starting Friday afternoon. The painter starts Monday am at 7:00, and the list of repairs needed continues to grow. Found that one of the doors was really in bad shape, so replacing that was added to the list, and we just decided to rip out all the tile in the master bath since a) it's not attractive but most importantly b) we're replacing the tub, the shower enclosure and all the fixtures. Replacing the tile actually makes everything easier, and gives us more flexibility. Every time I walk in, I love it even more.. I did have one of the neighbors tell me they saw Wayne wandering around the streets, so Idaho - what happened to you keeping him under control???? Our furniture shows up the 17th, so we have a week and a half to get through a pretty long list of renovations, but I'm really pleased with the contractors I have. So - thank you to EVERYONE for helping to keep me sane during this process. Now that we're closed, I'm going to cancel my credit card owned by the seller's bank because I really thought they were lame - so while I couldn't do anything during this process, I can at least have my own little "punishment" to them on the credit side.... . Now I have to get through the whole process of becoming an OFFICIAL Florida resident

Deb, I tried ~ I really did ~ just give me credit for keeping Wayne out of the way as long as I did! Hey, kept him occupied long enough for you to close so you owe me! Congratulations btw... Big smiles here; so happy you got the ONE place you had your heart set on....
I don't have great before pictures, but there is an army of people working here.... I'm so confused with keeping things straight, that I'm just exhausted. The fans are going up and soon there won't be wires hanging out of the ceiling!! All the contracors seem to be helping me try to keep the costs down for all the stuff we're adding. They have gutted part of the master bath, and to be honest, I think it looks better than before!! I'll run take a picture of that. Thanks for the good wishes, and as I sit here in the house on my lawn chair as the painters paint around me, I just keep loving this house more and more. ESPECIALLY since I heard it snowed in West Virginia!!!
OK, carpet is almost laid (they do things alot slower here than in Virginia), and should be done by 3:00. Electrical work is moving slowly but surely, house painting moving forward (inside done, working on outside now - and their machine broke yesterday, so they had some delays) - should be done today, and the moving people called and said they were early and could deliver furniture today at 2:00 - we said NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOO! As bad as tomorrow will be, I can't wait to get in the house...
Deb, I hear you ~ oh, do I hear you! As nerve racking as it was to complete the purchase of our "forever" home, it was NOTHING compared to the "improvements" I was determined to make before we moved in and those improvements were actually pretty minor - interior painting, re-wiring, ect.
I remember ~ I would move from the house to the garage to the patio ~ lots of noise and too many people to count BUT they were are working toward one goal. Think it is probably the same for you. Hang in there/ it will be worth it in the end!
