Thank you HGTVAdmin. So happy to have our HGTV Dreamhome 2014 thread to share our Dreamhome dreams. As usual, the site and home are fantastic.

If anyone has missed the construction photo cam and the neat 3D tour check it out. Really neat.

Bears, Gators, Snakes, Tarantulas, Tyranosaurus Rexes, wild animals of all sorts; why can't they build a house where the only dangerous wild animal to worry about is a baby wooly caterpillar?

They claim those black bears don't care for people, but love your garbage, so tell little hoppy to be careful what he throws away.

The view, the trees, the mountains, so pretty.

nursejudy is happy, I would say California here I come, but I am already here.

After watching one of the videos with the architect talking about how strong the windows are and how they should hold up well to the onslaught of misdirected golf balls, maybe we should refocus our safety concerns to the danger of amateur golfers lurking oustside the boundries of the rear yard!!!! YIKES!!

Make sure you put hoppy in your pocket when you are running Mr. Bill. I think wild animals usually stay away unless you leave garbage or food out.

Did you see the beautiful picture with the first snow?

I laughed out loud with the not finishing last comment. Glad I didn't have my coffee in my mouth.

The pics are awesome. Thank you for sharing them.

Our white stuff hasn't fallen yet, right now...it's the wet stuff, mixed with the fall leaves. What a mixture! Our neighbors have a pine. I keep asking their young son to throw the pinecones over the fence, I give him a penny/cone. Lately, not sure if it's him/the wind. lol He keeps reminding me of at least one penny. Pine cones make for great fire starters.

As for no grilling: We already have trouble trying to keep the flies out when we cook, can't imagine keeping bears away when grilling. Seriously....NO grilling?

I love the home giveaway you have every year, but I have one complaint. I would love for just one of your homes to have the access to the home for someone with disabilities. I know my odds of winning are not very good, but if I do win I would like to be able to use it. I am wheelchair bound and second stories are hard to get to as well as some decks and entrances. Just a thought.

Thanks,

Jeff

my complaint is also about the location.

it would have been of benefit to have the dream home on the Nevada side of lake Tahoe.

top rate for personal income tax (which would have to be paid for the winner) in California is a whopping 13% compared to to zero in Nevada.

the property taxes in California would be about ~34K a year.......had it have been on the Nevada side it would have only been ~18K

I realize that most people are not in a position to actually ever live in the dream home because they're not able to pay the income tax on the win unless they take out a mortgage for about half the value of the home.......but on the chance they would, the lower state and property taxes would have been helpful

This is a beautiful site and will be a beautiful home, but how many people right now want to MOVE to California? It seems like more people are moving out than in because of the high cost of living. Maybe someone from a nearby area will win it.
