I believe Truckee is not far from where the Donner party got into Big Trouble from an especially early snow and then consistent snow cover.

We won't need no stinkin' snow making machines!

What are we supposed to do when we run out of food and we are snowed in? I'm writing out my ad for room-mates now.

"Wanted pleasingly plump room-mates for the winter season only." Contact Mr. Bill at DH2014.

Hold the panic....

Bears should only be a problem when it's warm. They hibernate in the winter, right????

It's the paw prints on the muddy jogging trail... MIA golf balls... uninvited guests in the pool...

Oiy!

Winter. That would be wolf prints in the snow....

You need to watch out for the small print. I think I read the average snowfall is over 200 inches.

Chicago's average snowfall by comparison is 42 inches.

I've placed my ad for DH 2014 room mates in the "Donner Pass Gazette."

Any heated wires under the driveway? Wow. How many snowdays do the kids get around there?

Much snow, but I think, in the valley, it warms up considerably during the day so there is much snow melt.

Truckee is now one of my weather.com locations so we can keep track of such critically important things.

I'm sure they a used to all that snow and know how to handle it. Not like here where the *forecast* of a storm is sometimes enough to cancel school.

I go in here and it says "Thank You for Entering" when I have not entered yet?

If someone else has entered that day on your computer log in, it will do that. A new feature this year to prevent entering twice. Each person needs to log in on their section of the computer. Most computers you can make a wallpaper page for each person. That should solve it.

Good luck Smile
