HI Kaye,
It is a contest, every entry has equal opportunity to win with no condition on your employment status, how much you earn etc. Most people that win have to sell because you have to pay taxes on your win. The value counts as income tax. But the wonderful thing is, they can sell, pay the tax and still have a nice amount to build or buy a dreamhome they can afford. That is a dream also.
Good luck on your entries.

Forgive my U of Wisc C status, Ms. Kay...but the use of the word, "always" is so inculpatory. I feel a twinge of exculpatory in my assessment of HGTV: Would they really chance to screw up a fifty million entry sweepstakes?

You left out two words, it should have read "Just a lack of thought..."

This thought comes in my mind years before and this is still unanswerable.

IT is a simple answer. HGTV is a resource to learn and obtain knowledge of new products and processes one can use both to and maybe, just maybe win one of these. It has been an enjoyable learning experience for me over the years I have enjoyed this fun educational opportunity and in the business of life, a dream is just what people need.
The contests bring a simple answer as well. it is a contest which is won by a drawing with no thought of a persons social or economic status. Being the winner is the chance of your name being drawn out of the millions of people who enter. In addition to learning more about many vendors and products, I choose to live the dream as noted in my siggyline. How fun to dream about the posibility of living in one of these neat homes and the enjoyment you would have with your family and friends there. I also have enjoyed seeing the joy of those who have won and those who have either been able to live there or vacation a few times. A dream is what keeps the possibility of something wonderful in your mind and for some winners that may mean selling if they could not afford to maintain this home and using that to build a dreamhome you can afford and perhaps utilize some of the neat products you see in the dreamhome.

Do not loose site of the joy of a dream whatever that might be. In the meantime there are over 100 pictures you canview on the progress of this new dreamhome.

Enjoy life with the opportunites we have, thank you HGTV of rthe dream.

Two more days to enter the Renovate Sweeps.
Winning could be the best Christmas present you'll ever get this year?

. How Winner will be Determined: The one (1) potential Grand Prize Winner (the "Grand Prize Winner") will be selected in a random drawing from among all eligible entries on approximately November 19, 2012, by an independent judging organization, and will be contacted by phone on or about November 21, 2012.
