Although the house is staged well, it's still a bit too much for my more minimalist taste. Art is a very personal thing, and much of what I've seen in the photos is just not what I'd like to look at daily. I do like the architecture of the house and some select pieces of furniture, though. If I had to live there, the two things would happen immediately: a yard sale and a few gallons of paint!

I'll have to agree that some of the artwork isn't stuff I'd put on my wall. I didn't really take any shots of most of it due to copyright issues, but there was a fair amount of abstract(ish) type things I didn't care for, but some framed photos that were decent in the stairway, etc, too. The brown/white striped wall in the Master Bedroom would go the SECOND I got the house keys - I've never understood Linda's near obsession with striped walls or red walls. I took color theory 101 in Art school - both red and stripes are considered non-relaxing, so not sure where these things came from. She did a really good job overall, but some of it did get over the top in these areas. If you're minimalist you wouldn't care for it. Several of the rooms were in my opinion, cluttered with "chatskis", where there was JUST enough to not make it obnoxious, but if you added just one more thing you'd look like a hoarder. In other thread I posted several pics I took in the house and one was the Guest Bedroom. Here is a shot from the other side of the room, and you can see there's a second chair, table, etc. on the other side. WAY too much - you don't need two side chairs and two side tables for them in such a small room. The chair literally just about touched the corner of the bed - you had to squeeze through it to get to the closet area. Most of that stuff in that corner could have left - though regarding the way it was decorated and painted, imo, it was the most relaxing of all the bedrooms... __________________________________________________This message has been edited. Good job Linda and Jack. I love to see what you come up with. Everyone has different tastes in artwork and such. *****Catch the Excitement***** ******Dreams and happiness to all my MB friends****** ~ ~ ♥ ~ ~♥ ~ ~♥~~♥~~♥ a flapjaw and a Sheltie collector avatar fan Real Friends Believe in Your Dreams

This is not as a reply to anyone. I just had to pop in here to post my complete disappointment in the decor of this house! Clearly it's personal taste but I found little that was relaxing, comfy, homey or pleasant to look at or be in! The house has some nice bones with all the windows and accordion doors etc. Neat idea to have a craft room, but not for an adult using it for art next to their children's room! Boring, hard and cold all over. Half the windows look onto the street right outside your front door, as does the front deck. Patio/deck in back is nice but ... all in all I wouldn't want to live in it even if it was free! On the other hand I LOVED the beautiful farmhouse on the bay - couple of years back!

Does anyone know what the property taxes would be on a house like this?

I do not remember which tread the property taxes were discussed in, but someone noted it to be not to high. *****Catch the Excitement***** ******Dreams and happiness to all my MB friends****** ~ ~ ♥ ~ ~♥ ~ ~♥~~♥~~♥ a flapjaw and a Sheltie collector avatar fan Real Friends Believe in Your Dreams

1.05% of appraised value according to Fulton County, GA. which, at 500K + would be at least $5000 per year.

Tango, What do you think about the single light bulb in the entry of the home? *****Catch the Excitement***** ******Dreams and happiness to all my MB friends****** ~ ~ ♥ ~ ~♥ ~ ~♥~~♥~~♥ a flapjaw and a Sheltie collector avatar fan Real Friends Believe in Your Dreams

Wonderful Memorial Day weekend. I was looking at a video of the entry and noted the single lightbulb in the entry. Have they done that before, I can't remember? The annual tax on the home are a little more then i pay here, but compared to alot of the country, I think about average. *****Catch the Excitement***** ******Dreams and happiness to all my MB friends****** ~ ~ ♥ ~ ~♥ ~ ~♥~~♥~~♥ a flapjaw and a Sheltie collector avatar fan Real Friends Believe in Your Dreams
