I am blessed as to have a home paid for and also a hold on me as I do not feel I can get rid of it and there is so many things needing done to it. I lost my husband a day before my birthday 3 years ago and am finally at a point to where I am wanting to renavate the home. It is paid for and I cannot and do not want to move from it, just need help fixing it. I would love to meet the HGTV house crasher but do not see it happening. What sort of help can I get and how do I start trying to go the correct direction to accomplishing this?
First of all, HGTV people (who could help you) do not read the message boards. The nearest we get to that is Peter (Casey Nobels DH) sometimes reads and will comment about her show. If you're looking to be on an HGTV show, there is an area entitled "Be on HGTV" with guidelines, shows they're wanting homeowner's for, and areas where they are looking.
You say you want "help" - not sure if this means financial, in which case read the first paragraph. If you're just looking for design help there are probably several design professionals in your area who can be of assistance, either for a consultation to get you started or for helping you get thru the whole process start to finish.
If you just want some ideas, post on the Decorating part of the Message Boards - there are many people there, both professionals and just those who love the decorating process, who will be glad to help. Be specific in what you're looking for - if you post in broad generalities it's much more difficult to get answers.
I understand where the postee is coming from. be on HGTV dont really cast in Texas. I would like to see casting be offered more in Texas such as Austin, Houston, and small cities like Beaumont. we r the odd state out, not everyone who watches HGTV lives in California, Atlanta, or Wyoming.
