I desperatley need to do a complete demo in my 1960 kitchen. I tried painting them years ago though they are not a good grade and the fronts of the drawers are falling off. There is also what I think was z-brick as a backsplash that needs to go as well. It is 12 X 12. I will have to hire a contractor to do all of it as I have cancer.I need to do this because I want to sell my home and the kitchen is a real red flag. Thanks to all who offer their opinions

I think in your situation, I'd find a contractor whom I trusted, tell him how much I had to spend, and ask what he could accomplish with that budget.

Best of luck to you.
