My husband and I just moved into a new home. The living room walls are mustard yellow. I want to repaint but we didn't realize the walls were as bad as they are. Theres huge indents and seems. It looks like the former owner painted over wall paper. We don't have a lot of money right now. Is there a "cheap" way to make the walls appear smoother. Or should we just repaint and live with the ugly until we can replace the walls?

It does not cost a lot of money to remove the wallpaper and fill the dents, just a lot of elbow grease. You can find instructions for doing both cheaply on line.
