It pains me to say this but I finally saw a design of Candice's that I just did not care for. This was the Baby-Friendly LR with Open Floor Plan epi. I suppose it was because I don't like fuscia or teal or blue all that much, but I just did NOT like this one at all. I tried. I kept an open mind until the end. It actually doesn't look so bad in the picture they put on this site, but they didn't show the shiny teal abalone shell-looking tiled FP next to the bright fuscia wall. I don't know why, but I hated it, and I hated that mirror she put on the wall too. However, I was pleasantly surprised to have caught a new epi when looking for something to DVR.

I have to agree. This was a ridiculously garish and not terribly liveable space, IMO. Worse, Candice talked about the importance of being trendy in the design, and how long would this look last before it was hopeless outdated? A year, a month.
I agree that the mirror was one of the ugliest things I've ever seen on DD and the placement on the wall made it look like something they found in the garbage in the back of the Chicken Ranch. I laughed when Candice said that it was made of non-breakable material (and became that much more expensive) because if there was one mirror that deserved to be broken, it was that one. The tile? Even the homeowners looked like they had to fake being excited when they saw it.
It was nice to see her work outside her comfort zone, or perhaps OUR comfort zone. However, I think the colors, the finishes and even the accessories were totally mismatched.

Gulp - I also have to admit that this is the first time I didn't care for one of Candice's designs. It was just . . . off. Usually, her "starting off point" makes sense, but the teal shimmery tile didn't relate at all to the black granite in the kitchen, and pulling the other colors - the turquoise and fuschia, especially - out of those tiles was more of a stretch than a compatible progression this time around.
Also, I usually think Candice has an absolute genius for arranging furniture, but this time, it looked like she broke apart a sectional and IMO, it just didn't work.
Also, IMO, paisley is just about never hip and aqua paisley, less so.
Sorry, Candace. I know I couldn't do better, but I know you can.

I have been watching Divine Design for many years. This was not Candace's best effort. The colors were garish and what bothered me is the white couches. The protective surface might be good for a few years. However, after numerous cleanings, those crayons, markers and scuff marks from children's shoes would take their toll. I can jus t imagine a bowl of cherrios and milk running inside the cushions. It would be just my luck to have some well meaning person give my child a permanent marker. I thought I would never say this, Candace you were way off the mark with this design.- looked more like a Las Vegas Hotel room. Yuck!!!

I thought the room was cool...and I really think Candice does a lot of talking to the clients before she does one thing to the room....a young hip couple in a young hip room. Go Candice!

Where did you find this? I am looking for a picture and more info on episode 1307. Can you help with that too? Thank you
Hi Jen1064
Every 2 weeks on www.shns.com Candice does a Newspaper article. The last one that was done was on November 14th, so you are not going to see episode 1307 until November 28th. When you get to the shns.com website do a search for divinedesign and all the photos from her episodes will come up.
Also, if you go to www.globeandmail.com and do a search for Candice Olson a smaller photo of the rooms will come up. GlobeandMail update their articles every Friday after a new Episode has aired in Canada.
If you need anything else let me know.

I loved the mirror! In fact I have been searching the website and internet for information about the mirror to no avail, does anyone know price or where to purchase?
