What do you do to make an old furnace floor vent look pretty. I need a few affordable ideas please. When I first got this house (built in 1949), the vent was covered with grey duct tape that was falling apart. I did clean it up, but had to recover it in duct tape...only I used a tan duct tape to half way match the original hardwood floors. Thank you for any ideas.

Why does it need duct tape?
Have it sand blasted, and primed and spray painted. Tons of colors to choose from, and even the bronze hammered finish might be nice.
