Ok not to be mean but I really could care less about Candice in the 80's what she looked like or what costume she's wearing. I don't want to hear about her son turning 8 or what the cake looks like if your show is about DESIGN please just do that
To each his own but I like hearing about her children. We have been watching her through both of her pregnancies and it's interesting (to me at least). On Divine Design there were a couple of episodes where photo's of the crew and her were shown from their teenage years. I liked that . It was fun to see what she, Paul, Edmond, Chico and Andrew looked like back then! And I do think she's funny! Anyway that's my opinion.
I really like Candace, but honestly I don't care to watch her digging through Tupperware boxes of shoes, or designing Halloween costumes. Sarah mentions her kids and we've seen her husband, but it doesn't become a subject per se.

Candice is not a natural in front of the camera and she tried too hard. Remember back several years ago when all her commentary had to do with how sexy her male crew was? That was border line disgusting!
I missed the episode that you are referring to. By the way have you ever seen her husband? He's really good looking! I think that he's German.
I sure do miss Divine Design and I am not too thrilled with the new show. But all things eventually change and come to an end. Too bad some of the DD crew didn't stay on the new show. I know I would like it better if they had!
On Saturday's show, Candice was trying to learn some German because her husband's family was coming for a visit. The Powers That Be must have told Candice to put more personal details in her show.

I don't mind that in the least! I think that it's fun!
I've watched Candice's shows since they started, I think and it was always one of my favorites. I posted a comment somewhere here about the personal slant they have recently added to her show and I don't like it. I watch for design ideas and to see the beautiful job she and her crew do. This latest one (natural bathroom) was so full of pitfalls including Candice having withdrawal from caffeine that I felt jangled as well and when the project was finally finished, I was just glad it was over. The finishing (which I usually love to watch) was shoved into the last few minutes of the show and the reveal was nearly anti-climactic. Too much drama. You're ruining her show for me and I've about had enough. I miss divine design. It was so peaceful.
I've watched Divine Design since she started quite a few years ago - and have to say, if it's a design show, let's see DESIGN. The skits she and her crew used to do were stupid and, to me, detracted from the overall quality of the show. I'm not crazy about the new show she has, and for sure don't need more personal details about her life. Yes, we all like to know a bit about people we watch, but when it overrides the main objective of the show (which SHOULD be design) it's too much. Also, agree with CharlesD - Sarah manages to throw in personal tidbits but is never over the top with it. She and Tommy can be silly, but in this case it's charming and makes me laugh.
I agree, the old Divine Design format was much better. The new show is less about good design and more about little "skits" that should have been left out. Last night showed shutting off a breaker and shutting down the owners computer. Coincidence that a camera was with the owner right at that time? Or how about the missing dog scenario? Way too staged. Candice - get Chico back, go back to the old format - please?

You, too? Unfortunately, this has been the case with me and HGTV for eons now. Except for the rare new show like Interiors, Inc. And, even then I forget to watch it.
And, sorry to say, after sitting through two episodes of White Room Challenge, it's buh-bye. -- I gave it a chance, but it is just so plodding and formulaic.
I'd rather watch the decor on Mad Men. (And some of the more fun design shows on other networks that shall remain nameless.)
I really liked the show where they interviewed set and prop designers from various t.v. shows. How they had break away walls/ceilings etc. thought that show was very informative and interesting.
I saw sets from Modern Family, Desperate Housewives, Big Bang theory, The Middle. Very nice for this grandma of a budding movie director!
I thought the concept for this show was supposed to be how to solve a particular design problem, or how a particular design problem drives the design solution.
The show has evolved over its few seasons to be more her version of "Design, Inc.," showing more about how the project moves along than design decisions.
I don't mind the format tweaks of this show over the seasons - "Divine Design" had its share of format changes as well and we got used to them - but I agree with those who don't care for the personal storylines, and I'd just much rather see more of Candice's thought and decision-making processes.
Of course, the bottom line is we still get to see her ultimately beautiful designs!
I started watching HGTV mainly because of Divine Design. I ran across it one night. I have only watched her new show a couple of times, don't like it. She and the old crew worked so well together on Divine Design. I hope they can come up with something different.
