I am traveling to Barcelona, Spain, in September and I need a RE agent to show me houses or appts to buy in that area. Anyone knows how to proceed?
Start on line - some of the US real estate agencies are multinational and might have agencies in Spain.
The website is not liking me today!
Do a website search of Barcelona real estate. Get familiar with the different areas of the city now along with what is included in an apartment, pricing, special non-resident taxes and restrictions, etc.
Contact several agents and exchange emails with information about apartments/condos you saw on line and choose an agent you are comfortable communicating with. Plus if you are not fluent in Spanish, make sure the agent is fluent in English.
Good luck and keep us posted on your adventure.
Fun and Info
Gema, if you're already serious about moving to Barcelona, then I assume you've visited there before and have contacts in the area.
Besides doing research, if it were me, I would ask my contacts about their RE experiences and obtain a number of personal referrals.
