Closed on new house 3 weeks ago. Closed on old house yesterday. What a relief that all went through.

Lessons we learned. Our realtor told us people were looking for a bargain. We already knew we were going to lose money on the sale so we decided to price low to be done with it and get on with our lives. We listed below the realtor recommended amount and below what similar houses in the neighborhood were selling for. We sold for about 3% less than listing price.

Similar homes (none are the same) that have not sold and were on the market longer either had crowded or distracting decor in their px or were priced higher for almost the same thing. Did that matter? Who knows.

We were worried about the home inspection but in reality it is little more than what the average buyer/homeowner used to do before there were such things as hiring someone else to do it.

Now this is down in AR where the market is just starting to pick up a little but prices are still really down. Unfortunately we still have the house to sell in MN but that is another story.

Well that is great news MeTwo. So happy for you.

While you may have lost a little on the selling end, hopefully you picked up some auto equity on the buying end..so can all even out.

We are now a sellers' market in our area in Florida, thank goodness. Been a long time coming. However a few short sales and foreclosures here and there, so some bargains still this year.

Best of luck, fun and future in your new home.

Thanks all. It has taken a couple of days to feel comfortable here and the post notes are still on the cupboards Smile so we can find things but things are getting settled.

Just read an article about lake homes were starting to move in MN. But they were talking about expensive ones, something we are not. Oh well, we will see what happens when we get back there in a couple weeks.

Congratulations.

Home inspections like that are good for the seller, not so much for the buyer. Wink
