Hallelujuah,
We signed the papers to sell our house and buy another one.
There is no contingency on anything. BUT, he is going to have it appraised and inspected.

We are getting 30K less than we thought we needed. We are happy to sell.

We have signed the papers to buy a house on the contingency that our house sell. I am getting excited about this house. It isn't new and has wall paper. We feel that it is a great deal.
I did not want to do any wall papering and painting but here we go again.

Congratulations!

And maybe you have gotten just enough to pay a painter to take down that wallpaper, then paint for you???

Willow - that is great!!!!! I understand he's getting the house inspected (even if he can't do anything about what comes up), and the appraisal - what is the timeframe for those? I always want to have everything done and finished...... Let us know the timing.... Hang in there!! Big Grin

Peri,
Thanks. Our closing date is 8/22/08. I don't remember when your is.

Libbdes,
We are beginning to get excited about painting.
I am not very good at placing furniture but I am sure I can get some help on the decorating thread.
Charcoalsmom.
Thank you, Hopefully your house will be next.

Idaho,
Thanks, we are beginning to unpack and repack.
When getting the house ready to sell, I packed some things for the estate sale. Now the lady doing the sale wants to see everything. She knows that we have enough to sell but she wants to take pictures next week.

AC White,
My daughter and I took down the wallpaper and painted here. DH is not in good health but he wants to take down the wallpaper in the foyer of the new house.
DD and DGD want to help paint.

Peri,
We don't see any problems that could arise but we are still keeping our fingers crossed.

The new house is going to be our country estate. Razz hee hee. It was built in 1994, 3 br 2 baths, great room (I didn't want a formal living room this time), formal dining room,
breakfast room and kithen that just had a 40K remodeling job. The kitchen is nice and has a sub zero refrigerator(that really impresses us. We wanted one but thought it was too expensive.)
We have a swimming pool and beautiful landscaping at the back of the house.

stressedout,
That is exactly how we feel right now. We will have a pod to use for our furniture that we are keeping. The Buyer will not let us have an estate sale after the papers are signed. That is ok because someone could be hurt and he wants that on our insurance.
Thanks for all the crossed fingers, good wishes, etc.

Debid,
If there is anything wrong after the inspection, we will repair it. I hope we are right in thinking that the house is sound and no water problems.
The termite man was here yesterday. The inspection will be Monday. (The inspection on the house we hope to buy is also monday).
We don't understand why he is having an appraisal since it doesn't affect his buying--he said. We were already priced lower than any other house (in our comps) on the lake.

Gail D,
Thank you. I'm sure that I am a little uptight about closing. You never know what could happen. But, I am REALLY stressed about this estate sale. We will sleep on a mattress in the house until closing.

2stay,
Yea! We are moving into a retired doctor's house.
Hopefully a doctor will look at your house.

flboy,
WOW this lucky dust really works doesn't it?
Thanks

beantown,
We are getting excited about moving. Hopefully, we will make enough money on the estate sale to buy a few new pieces of furniture.
Monday, we will be checking on some cabinets for the bathroom.
