I noticed that in the previous DHs they always have a doggie dream home, but they seemed to skip the pets this time. How about eco-friendly dog food, toys, cat posts, etc. I work for an eco-friendly cat scratching post company and it would be a great way to show people that there are environmentally friendly alternatives for pets too.

Good luck everyone!

Cool! I'll have to get my kitty one. Your company should check with HGTV about donating to the next green home for the advertising.

What great products. I currently don't have a kitty, but I love cats, and would love to get another. Thanks for letting us know about your products. I agree with Kdoodle, talk to HGTV!

Thanks for the kudos. Maybe if the winner has a cat (assuming it's not me and my 2) we can donate a post through HGTV. Eco-friendly pet products are kind of new, but they really make sense when you think of what goes into (and what could go into) pet products. Plus the exposure would be great!

Good lcuk all!

I think its a great idea to donate a post - get the message out. That's part of what is so great about the HGTV GH - its spreading education and raising awareness.

I hope Eco-friendly pet products aren't a new idea, hopefully pet owners have been creating green minded products for decades - I hope its simply gaining momentum.

Good luck!

Do they have eco-friendly kitty litter. My kitties would move into the greenhome with me.

That is a very good point. I wonder why no "Doggie Green Home" or at least eco-friendly pet products. I run a blog about eco-friendly home decor, and though I have only included 2 pet products so far, I wanted to make sure I didn't leave out pets, since so many people consider them to be part of the family.

I could probably be wrong, but my guess would be that dog houses are not encouraged in our part of the country if you live on any sort of water (like the small lake for the GH). We don't really want to offer our dogs as alligator "filet mignon" so dog houses aren't used. If I owned the GH, my dog would continue to be a house dog, walked on a leash several times a day.
