I was looking at the questions for the winner - and some are likely the same people as those who posed dream home questions. Questions like - what makes you deserving? This first is usually asked by more then one person.
Or this dichotomous (I think I invented that version of the word!) one - what do you think you did to win this random drawing?
And the inevitable - and again usually asked by more then one person - how are you going to pay the the 300,000+ taxes?
First, what a downer for the winner and also, I'm guessing they never read the boards here or know that even after paying the taxes a winner would have more money then they had before when you sell. Unless you had an extra 250,000 or more lying around. And if you did, you just padded your bank account even more! Even if for some odd reason, the house didn't sell for its worth and you got only 25,000 profit - I would be so happy with that!
Although, the dream of course is to keep the home! Its so lovely.
A few people made references to the last winner and hoped the next would react. I think for some, being dumbfounded and quiet is reacted. I don't know what I would do. I'd likely want to hug everyone from Jack or Carter or whoever the host might be to the camera man! Then again, maybe I would be very self conscious and shocked. Who knows! For me screaming would likely be overreacting. But again, who knows how one will react till it happens?
I wonder if some people are practicing their reactions in front of mirrors?

Amyart--I don't want you to think I am stalking you on the MB since I am following three of your messages, just worked out that way tonight-- I love your above thoughts, especially the "What did you do to win this random contest?" Like you, I am not sure how I would react--I tend to not be overly outgoing--and am not the type to scream--or jump up and down--But I would be sure to express how appreciative and thrilled I was to win.... So, if they do ambush the winners I keep thinking that I do not want to be wearing my old sweats that I usually put on after work...may have to reconsider my wardrobe around the 19th Ha Ha Keep dreaming and greening! Mary
I am supposing they will initially attempt to contact the winner-finalists by phone, so I listed my cell number so that they get a voice on the line rather than a recording. Then they will follow-up with documents to sign. Good luck to all the MBers who make this place the first class communication it is.

Hey Marygoinggreen - You mean around the 19th when they will have the winners at the dream home - isn't the notification today?
If I won anything and had time before a public appearance - I'd have a new mom makeover. I haven't worn anything really nice since my baby was born! My hair is generally ponytailed too!
Good luck to you too tangow!
Dreamn - I'm thinkin' the same thing!

Amyart: this is what I was referring to from the "Rules: A predetermined number of potential Grand Prize finalists (the "Finalists" and each, a "Finalist") will be chosen by Main Sponsor in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received during the entire Sweepstakes Period on or about May 19, 2008 that will be monitored by Ritway, Inc., an independent judging organization ("Sweepstakes Administrator"). Each of the Finalists will be contacted either by phone, e-mail, in writing or in person on or about May 19, 2008
