We had a very bad house fire in February and we are just getting ready to demo what's left. I am interested in finding people who would want things like tubs, toilets, and sinks for recycling but can't get any info on this. I'm in Southern California. Any leads as to where I would find such people? I've tries the local recycling centers but they just know about cans and plastic.

Call Habitat for Humanity - they will point you in the right direction.

What about Freecycle.com? Check on line for the nearest center to you.

Freecycle is a good idea but it is actually www.freecycle.org (instead of .com). Good luck in finding a new home for still useful items! Smile

"mgkimball," Hope you didn't think I was being critical; just wanted to be sure the OP got to the right website!

BTW, thanks for the suggestion to check out regional areas; I was totally surprised to find that there are now TWO in my small rural area staffed by volunteers! Smile

What a breath of fresh air! Thank you for recycling these things. I get so upset with HGTV when I watch a show where the smash a toilet or a counter top with a sledge hammer.
