Really sorry you're so unhappy - most of us don't care for the constant RE shows. However, as I stated in another post to you, keep your eyes open on even the fanciest design shows and you may find ideas you can use on your own budget in your own home.

Zygote...seriously, why do you even watch HGTV? You seem to have a problem with every show they broadcast! Most people can't afford million dollar homes much less million dollar rooms...so what???? It's called TELEVISION, it's there for ENTERTAINMENT and maybe you can learn a thing or two. I work with clients that don't nearly have the budget you see on some of these shows, but they watch any way and I help them stage their house to sell or give their homes a face lift. If you're offended by a show about people who are wealthy, THEN CHANGE THE CHANNEL!!!

I agree as I hate this show also and David needs to come down from that cloud in the sky. He thinks he is the best. David you can do better.

I can't get past his annoying voice to even give the show a try. It's like fingernails on a chalkboard...but then I stopped watching HGTV years ago when it became the Real Estate channel and they took all the good shows off.

I didn't ask you to feel sorry for anybody I do like some of the shows but not all and I pay for this station it not free do you want to pay for this for me if not than I have just as much right as you to speak my mind on those sorry shows just like you

I agree I need to see more budget shows

Sorry - I really do feel badly for anyone who seems to be as unhappy as you are with things. We all complain on here because of the lack of intelligent design shows hosted by credible, real designers - but as for the low end or high end, I still say if you watch you can find things to do even on a low budget that can mimic some of the higher end shows. And, David has been known to use IKEA stuff in some of his designs - and he does a lot of building so it isn't exactly a replicate of Million Dollar Rooms.

Zygote, I feel your indignation. But I think you have to understand that HGTV exists to support the real estate market. In the past, the make over shows got consumers excited about buying and flipping houses with a "can do"/"do it yourself"/"I can get richer" enthusiasm. A lot of people went deep into debt doing that and the banks loved it. Then the economy tanked, those people lost the equity they thought they secured in their nice, newly renovated houses -- or they lost their houses entirely, and the banks got bailed out and got to keep the nice, newly renovated and foreclosed houses! Now, HGTV is geared towards the people who survived the crash, and it presumes those people have the cash to hire designers and contractors and to shop in boutiques instead of going the "do it yourself" route. It is sad. I can't identify with these hi-falutin design shows either. I watched 1 too many episodes of House Hunters where a brainwashed house buyer on a budget walked into a perfectly livable house and started talking about how the decor "just has to be updated." I wretched! I'll be so glad when granite and stainless steel and knocking down walls FINALLY go out of style! I hardly ever see truly new design so I hardly ever watch the station anymore. This message has been edited. Last edited by: iphoenix,

I agree with a few people here. Never really liked the Bromstad dude. And His show? Watched about 5-minutes of 1- episode... My main beef is House Hunters International... I CANNOT STAND THAT SHOW! I absolutely Love House Hunters but Abhor H-H Int... I laugh at them trying to pass places that would be "Condemned" and Bull-Dozed here as some hidden gem.... I don't ever see myself living in Australia, Beirut, County Kilackey, Crowded Japan or New Guinea. Shows are just too Un-Realistic for me. I can see myself living in Atlanta, Miami, Austin Texas, Portland, Vancouver even but, that's as far as I go... I have no interest in watching some family scouting out places to live in Tel Aviv. Love- "House Hunters" but- hate House Hunters International(shrug)
