Hi! I need help choosing a Benjamin Moore color to paint the bead board that is between the upper kitchen cabinets and the counter. Cabinets are Wedgewood Gray and contiguous wall is Windham Cream. I've narrowed it down to a few colors that coordinate with the counter, which is formica "Concrete Stone." I first painted the beadboard Super White, which is the color of all the trim in the house, but it stands out too much. The colors I've thought of are: Ballet White, China White, Edgecomb Gray, and Alaska Skies. Opinions? Other ideas?

Thanks a million. One day I will post a picture of a finished kitchen!

Cloud White, Mayonnaise, Vanilla Ice Cream, Atrium White. They're softer than Super White.

Thanks, Casey! Of those, Cloud White is best with the grey tone of the counter. I'm wondering whether Dune White (968, below Cloud White) reaches a little more in the direction of the counter (being a bit grey-er), but I don't want to start something ugly with the yellow of the Windham Cream, which it will touch in a prominent location. I wish Dune came in a sample pot! Do you have an opinion about those two?

Skyler ~ Thanks! These house projects are taking forever, because we have to do little bits at a time. I'm ready for it to be over!! I'm going to look at your pictures!

I actually don't know Dune so I can't say about it. Haven't seen it.

Sarah, I completely understand about projects that take forever...I'm the queen of that. Please post pics when it's finished. I'm intrigued with the color of the cabinets and would really love to see them.

Casey, what are your feelings on Cloud White? Appropriate for kitchen cabinets? Does it have a yellow appearance?

Sarah, I hope you don't mind my extra questions but it might help you out. I'm considering painting my cabinets Cloud White so I'm equally interested in the info.

Skyler, love it. It's a white that is not too bright, not yellow, just a nice overall white. Definitely think it's a great cab color. For cabs I would use BenM's Impervo Satin. But talk to your paintstore guys. I was going to do that and ended up with Aura Satin Enamel (I believe...need to look at the can again). Haven't actually done the work yet. Still need to sand. Why can't I get motivated to sand?

Cloud White it is! I bought a sample pot and painted some poster board -- it's just right. You've got the eye, Casey!

About motivation -- I haven't got it figured out at all. All I know is that there are times when the mere thought of working on a project is exhausting, and other times when I think breezily to myself "Why not start now?" and start right in. A mystery.

Casey, thank you so much for your thoughts and suggestions on Cloud White. I'm really glad to hear that it doesn't appear yellow.
I've written down your suggestions on the Impervo Satin and will ask our paint man. I know just what you mean about the motivation issue. I've been putting off this project for over a year. The thought of sanding is making me drag my feet!

Thanks for starting this thread Sarah, it really helped me out and I'm glad you found your color.
