I finally got the valances hung and I think I will like them once I get walls painted. I'm posting pics and hope they do justice on the true color. We've been battling colors all summer and hubby's broken arm, but should be able to paint soon. The valances look ugh against white. They go great with my cabinets and coordinate well with my table.

I think we are going to paint our kitchen in the soft ivory and the back of our nooks in the soft ivory. These colors are in the same scheme of spicy nutmeg that our dining room is done in. The spicy nutmeg does not match our kitchen valances however but the kitchen and dining room are separated. I had a sample of almond creme that Casey and I had talked about earlier in the summer (before I got the valances). I tried a sample on the wall tonight up against the valances and it looks really pretty. Has anyone used this color in an entire house?
I could still do the nooks in the darker brown or mocha. Any thoughts? |

Love the valances -- love that little bias band at the bottom. You did good!
About color -- I have no access to the Olympic colors you're talking about. However, Ivory sounds too light. In fact, I thought you had decided on the Pony Tail for the living room and the Almond Creme for the entry? However, I'm still totally in favor of the Almond Cream and I'm betting it'll be beautiful against the valances. Go with it! |

I just haven't picked up the pony tail yet and had the almond cream so I tried it. I might go get the pony tail and try that today. When we spoke about colors I didn't have the valances.
