We are replacing our laminate flooring with tile and hardwood. Our kitchen cabinets are maple with cocoa glaze. The hardwood that will be in the kitchen is a medium woodtone, leaning more darker than lighter. We are at a standstill trying to choose tile. The cabinets and flooring have an orange-y undertone. The tile choices we have narrowed down all have a more creamy and yellow undertone. Does that matter or should we look for a different color of tile? Choosing tile is such a permanent decision that I am a bit nervous making a choice. For what it's worth, our walls are painted BM Silver Mist in the kitchen and it looks fantastic. I'd like the whole lower level to look that great.

What about a creamy or ivory tile with small diamond shaped cut outs of the Silver Mist tile shade embedded every so often?

Ooh, good idea Arepo. I was thinking of putting some cutouts in anyway but was leaning more towards the metals. Thanks!

So you think the yellowy undertones won't clash with the oranges of the wood?

Yellow and orange don't normally clash. I think they would be fine.

thank you so much for your idea, Arepo. I think one of ourtile selections has little accent squares that would look nice. I appreciate you confirming that the undertones would work. It looks good to me, but I'm not the expert.
