I've found a piece of fabric that I want to use for a valance. It has a background that looks like cream and gold. Sort of like SW Jersey Cream and Humble Gold. The rest of the fabric has all shades of blue. Since I'm not good with color, I want to know if Humble Gold would work as a wall color with blues. I plan on having white cabinets. If not, please suggest other options. This is for the 1/2 bath and laundry room that I just can't decide which direction to take. Thanks!
Casey, I'm so thankful that you have hung in there with me. I so need to paint these rooms and get on with it. I just can't see anything in my mind, which really, really causes problems. When building our home, my wonderful hubby would place boards and outline where things would be located! So sweet. Anyway, are you saying that white laundry appliances and white cabinets will look ok with the humble gold wall? How does the humble gold look to you, compared to that Delightful Moon that thatI tried? Oh, this fabric does have a very small amount of white.
HG definitely goes with white. (everything goes with white. )
As far as the differences between DM and HG -- I don't have the chip for DM and there doesn't seem to be a huge difference on the monitor (never trust your monitor!!) Okay, there's a 90% similarity in the two paint formulas. So I'm not sure you're going to be seeing a big difference on the wall.

Jersey Cream is a staple color for me - it works more often than not. It's definitely color on the wall, but no one has ever responded feeling that it was too much or too little. SW should rename it Goldilocks because it usually comes out as a "just right" color.
Here's a picture. Taken for the exposure of light on the walls, not for composition , so it's not the most exciting or well-done photo, but shows Jersey Cream rather well with blue and white.
Thanks, everyone. Now, when I do decide on which color for the 1/2 bath, either a cream or gold, then should I continue that same color across the hall for the laundry room, or can I bring in one of the blues that is in the bathroom valance? Is that too choppy? I would not use the blue in the hallway.
Nik, that's Sherwin William's Harmonic Tan in Duration Home matte. Great wall color; flexible and brings a natural and organic feel.
Harmonic Tan doesn't color match well in other brands. Your experience may be different, but I find it easier just to get H.Tan from SW. Duration Home or Super Paint is what I have it mixed in.

For the most part, the colors in my Gallery show well in comparison to real life because I manage the pix/gallery myself and have control -- well, as much control as one can have when it comes to the worlds of additive and subtractive color colliding.
Color on-line, whether SW or whatever, is never going to sync up well to color in real life. Plus, what you see on your monitor could be completely different from what I see on mine.
A real life description is that Harmonic Tan has a definite undertone of green. If you are looking for "tan", Harmonic Tan would not meet that expectation. Simply put it's a green in most normal residential lighting.
Thanks FC! I was wondering if I should use this in my Foyer. I really like the color I have been debating what color to use for some ttime now. I have not used SW before but I was wondering if this would lookgood with BM Richmond gold on one side of the foyer and desert tan/segovia red on the other.
If you look furthers in fc's photos, she shows the stair wall with SW's Sierra Redwood and the Harmonic Tan. It looks gorgeous against the red. (we all collectively drooled when she first posted that one.) Don't think it will work well with Desert Tan which is really more golden-orange and could fight the HT. The SW equivalent is Compatible Cream. Richmond Gold should look good. Richmond Gold is very close to Tatami Tan so you can see those on the visualizer together...Harmonic Tan is very similar, in some respects, to my fave Flowering Herbs. Green in some light, tan in others. Yep, it looks good with the red and the richmond gold. Good luck!
No, I was just mentioning FH is very similar to HT because it's a chameleon color (but it's more of a khaki/sage than a tan). Desert Tan is too close to both FH & HT to show well against it. The other colors have a deep enough contrast that this isn't a problem. They look great with the HT. There is no close equivalent to HT at BenM. That's why it's a unique color.
Sorry to keep on bothering you on this but what would be a good color choice that will work with all 3 colors - DT SR and RG? This is a north facing foyer.
