Need help with exterior paint colors Sign In/Join

Hi, All! I'm new to the board and I need some help choosing exterior paint colors. Our home is currently painted with BM white sand, with white trim, and a black door and shutters. It's just too yellow for me. I'm thinking of a beige-gray color with white trim, black shutters and BM Whythe Blue on the front door.

Any thoughts, help with colors would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to go too dark, but I am open to suggestions.

Thanks for the response. I will try a different upload.

We are not selling. The house is in desperate need of paint! We built the home 8 years ago. I am looking for a very serene, classic look. I'm leaning towards BM Winterwood or Rockport Gray.

I don't want a big gray blob...that's for sure. The roof is brownish-gray. Although those colors look dark on the computer or chip, they are not as dark on the house. Winterwood is a hair darker, but more gray.

I am certainly open to suggestions. The painter is coming some time this summer, but I just want to be prepared when he calls to tell me he needs my colors today.

Here is a closer look (hopefully) of my house. I will try to post pics of the colors I painted on as samples.

Thanks again for the help!!!!

Totally confused now...had a vision in my mind, but I didn't really consider the roof color. My roof is definitely brown. I like it, but I guess gray is out of the question. Just want something other than yellow.

Any advice/help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!!

Far left is Kingsport Gray
Middle I like Edgecomb Gray, though it is not much different than what I have.
Far right is Ozark Shadows

JMHO...thank you so much for all of your help! I'll try to answer all of your questions.

Yes, the house is southern exposure in the front. Full sun all day. I like Edgecomb, but it is very similar to what I have (looks less yellow and more white/gray). Ozark Shadows is pretty. It looks very nice this morning, but last evening it looked a little blue/purple. I found a few samples of homes that I liked that are Sherwin Williams. I'm going to get Library Pewter and Curio Gray and see how they look in person.

As for the material on the portico and bay roofs...it is cedar shakes. The builder was going for a farmhouse kind of feel. To the left of the bay is barn board. I think I will have my painter strip this and restain. Maybe just clear. I would love to change out the cedar shakes and put in copper, but I'm not sure about our budget. The painting is going to cost us $10k.

I would gladly take more ideas and suggestions. Thanks again!

Sue
