Hi Casey,
A few days ago you had suggested to put Sandy white as an option in our foyer. Before we start painting the foyer, I was wondering what color I could use in the guest room. This room is visible from the foyer. I was thinking of Saybrook sage. Do you think it flows well? Do you have any other muted green suggestions? This room faces south and has a lot of light thru the day. I would like to stay on the lighter side though. Thanks in advance, |

Looks purdy to me. Oh, gee, more greens...I have LOTS of green suggestions.
The list at BenM: Sages - Flowering Herbs CC-514 and Baby Turtle CC-515. Pretty similar to the khaki you have though. Fernwood Green -- 2145-40. Soft Fern 2144-40. MY favorite of the BenM greens. Camouflage 2143-40. Another khaki/sage. Nantucket Gray HC-114. A browner sage than Saybrook Sage. Vale Mist CC-1494. More of a gray-green. Guilford Green HC-116. A light green with a bit of yellow. Georgian Green HC-115. A bit darker than Guilford Green. Sherwood Green HC-118. A truer green but still fairly neutral. And that doesn't include any with a blue side. |

Thanks Casey. What color would look best in a 9X10 room? Should it be one of the lighter colors like Soft fern?
Also I am planning to put Fernwood green in our study which is also a small room. I have some sample paint in flat finish that I put on the wall and looked kind of dark to me. Will it look a little lighter in the eggshell finish? I am a little scared that it will look dark for a small room (9X10). Thanks, |

Actually, Soft Fern is NOT one of the lighter one. It's just a pretty one. The eggshell sheen doesn't LOOK lighter, it just reflects light more. So if you're thinking Fernwood Green is too dark, go up on the strip for both FG and SF to Limesickle and Silken Pine.
Sounds like big chip time. This message has been edited. Last edited by: casey31652, |

Hi Casey,
I decided to go with Soft Fern. I looked at the chip in the room and I think it will look good. This room gets a lot of light during the day so I think it will be ok. I went ahead and bought a gallon of it this afternoon. I trust your judgement/expertise. After all the other 2 colors that you had recommended RG and DB look great and I really like them. Thanks for your help! |

I'm crossing fingers for you. Hope you love it.

Hi Casey,
After a couple of months I was finally able to find time to paint. I absolutely love the Soft Fern that you had recommended. Thanks again for recommending this color. As for the foyer I am thinking of hiring a professional to paint. You had suggested the Sandy white. I like the color but am a little unsure as how much difference it would make from the linen white that we originally have. Maybe because it is a 2 storey foyer (North facing) it might show more of a color? What do you think? I like the hint of green that it has but was wondering if the intensity could be increased a tad bit maybe to make the LRV a little around 65-68? Or is there any other color you could recommend? Thanks! |

hmmm...scratching my head on why I recommended Sandy White (not that it looks BAD or anything -- quite the contrary. It's very pretty.) However, it's not one of my usual go-to colors. oh well.
Sea Urchin CC-1052, LRV of 64.5. Or any of those colors around it. Like them all. |

Does Sea Urchin have a hint of green khaki like the Sandy white? On BM website it looks kinda beige/yellow.
The two rooms on either side of foyer have RG and DT and Segovia red. I tried the limesickle on the wall but it looks kind of green with a little blue. I do like the Sandy white which has a green/khaki hint to it but it is too light and don't know if that will give much of an effect after the linen white we have now. Thanks for your help. |

No it doesn't. You want the khaki? Cuz Light Khaki is right above Sandy White -- but it's LRV is 55, I think. But honestly, 55 is still a pretty light color. In fact, a whole bunch of my very favorite colors are 55...

I wish there was a color in between the sandy white and light khaki. Like you had mentioned earlier the foyer needs to be light colored and since it is a north facing foyer light is an issue. I would like some color but not too much.
I am so confused. Is there any color that could be in between those colors maybe with SW? sorry to be a pain. |

Not a pain at all...Cream Fleece CC-233. It's LRV is 65 and it's right next to Crisp Khaki which means it's still a Khaki. Yay!??

You might try Bleeker Beige (BM) - I discovered the color on this site a few months back and tried it! It is a gorgeous neutral with a green undertone. Looks fabulous next to white. The BM paint guy told me many decorators are using this color.

Thanks Casey and Dcubirth! I will try both suggestions. |

Does anyone have pictures of rooms painted with Bleeker beige. I am also looking for picture of Cream fleece.
Thanks, |

Found a tiny pic for you:
After of the makeover room And supposedly this is Bleeker Beige -- she says it takes a quite olive green tone in her room and it certainly does: BB2 And the next pic in the album is also BB from the same source. It looks more beige there. |

Thanks Casey ! Do you have a picture of cream fleece?
Thanks so much ! |
