Hi everyone! It's been a long time since I've been on here. I need a little help please. I am trying to choose a paint color for my house. The shutters are a navy blue color and the doors are orangey-red. I've been looking at greens. I live in a cape cod that faces north with two exterior porches and a patio. Thanks for any input! PS I have Sw, PPG paint, lowes and home depot here.

I think that you will get more replies on the "general decorating" board. Also, pictures are needed in order to see what you are working with.

You're talking color so this seems like the appropriate thread, natsyrae. I do agree, however, that photos would be ideal and will increase your replies.

For some reason, grey popped into my head when you described your existing colors, i.e. navy and orange-red.

I would take chips or a sample board of those two colors in to my favorite store/preferred paint brand and select a few chips of grey (or whatever color you've chosen) to sample on the house itself. That way, you can examine the colors in your natural light.

Good Luck!

My front door is PPG (or Devoe) Egyptian Violet (which is really dark blue), my awnings are orangey-red (to blend in with brick planters), and the siding is a mustard color called Blonde Wood (either PPG or Devoe don't remember which brand. I hope the colors read true on your monitor.
