I have an 85 year old Dutch Colonial that we are wanting to repaint. It currently is a dusty blue, but it just doesn't seem to go with the style. I can't find a list of "authentic" colors for a Dutch Colonial. Can anyone help?
Your house is actually a Dutch Colonial Revival (being it is only 85 years old) these started to boom again in the late 19th Century and early 20th Century (sorry I have an addiction to architecture and old homes lol). A true Dutch Colonial was built during the colonial days. Sherwin Williams has a "historical" selection of paints if you go to their site you can use their color Visualizer to paint the outside of a house etc or you can Google Milk Paint, you will be able to see colors that were used during the colonial times that way.
