I am looking for some ideas, tips for what wall paint color would work best in our condo. We have a 3 floor townhouse and unfortunately we do not get much natural lighting, so it tends to look dark and gloomy inside. I am trying to figure out what wall paint colors would work best to help brighten up the place. I would like to stick with one color throughout the living room, hallways and entry ways and staircase and preferably a neutral color. Our floors are a light bamboo wood floor and our furniture is mostly dark brown. We just moved in so besides the floor and standard furniture its a clean slate. I tend to prefer colors in the turquoise, green, blue ranges. I am open to color but my fiance is leery of bright colored walls, though we are open to the dinning room being painted a bright color to add a pop of color on the main floor and for living room to use accessories to brighten up. Any suggestions on what neutral paint colors for the walls that would work well to brighten up a room/areas with little natural light? Any palettes that you like? Specific paint colors?
Check out chips in the beige, camel or cream families under the lighting conditions of your spaces. They are all neutrals, are subtle and importantly...warm. BUmp up artificial lighting throughout. Maximize what limited natural lighting you have. Place mirrors strategically to double light. Use reflective surfaces to bounce light such as glass, ceramics, metals or metallic finishes.
Hi Froo Froo,
Thank you for the tips. I hadn't thought about the strategic use of mirrors and such to reflect light. great idea!
