My new kitchen cabinets are being installed in a couple of weeks & I can't wait. The flooring is a really dark walnut hand-scraped hardood so I went with paint grade cabinets to lighten-up the room & to save **. I'm having a very hard time deciding on what color to paint them. I definitely don't want true white. My house is tudor & we're going for an old-world type decor. Can anybody help me? I get my paint from Pittsburgh Paint (have a friend who works there so I get a deal). He can match color chips from other stores, though. Thanks so much for your help. I'm typically a "lurker" & have learned a lot for these forums.

I use Manor Hall Timeless in Commercial White out of PPG often. Commercial White isn't the most fetching of paint color names, but it's a good white. Have your friend paint out a piece of trim for you.
It's not a super stark white, but it is a crisp, clean white that leans warmer and creamier as opposed to cooler and grayed.
It's just a good neutral white. White suppose to be a neutral any way, but I think everyone knows what I mean. lol!
Yeah, I know. If you can get them to spray out a sample on actual trim or scrap wood so you can take it home, it makes it easier to decide if a white is for you or not. Regular sample boards are one thing for walls, but there's something about samples painted on wood that gives you a better feel for how a color will work for trim, doors, cabinets, etc.
