I am torn between Latte and sands of time for my family room. Pics on the gen dec board. I know Latte is a big fav on the boards but haven't heard much about Sands of Time.
Any suggestions of a red to go with either of these? Or a chocolate brown. The Latte/Sands of time would be through my great room and foyer. Red in the powder room and dining room (initially thinking fireweed) and chocolate brown in the formal living room (french roast?)
I've been watching waaaaay too much Indiana Jones stuff this weekend. "Sands of Time" meant only one thing to me -- NOT color related.
Nah. I know it's a color -- I'm not sure why it's not as popular as Latte. People fixate on certain colors because other people they know have used it or they read about them here. Pretty taupey beige. SW itself shows it with Red Cent SW6341 and I like the earthy reds myself. I actually think it works with almost any red. Red Bay SW6321 and Fireweed and some of the new reds in the Concepts of Color like Antique Red SW7587 too. Yep. Just about any red, except for maybe the berry reds which have a lot of blue in them.
I have Latte in our master bath and my sister has Sands of Time in her bedroom. She asked painters to redo it as it was pinky/beige in her lighting. Latte would be more dramatic since it is darker (still not that dark though). I think with the tall ceilings you would be disappointed with such a light color.. good luck!
Thanks for the feedback. I think Sands of Time looks a little rosey in my light as well. So does latte go with a nice deep red and chocolate brown? I have my heart set on a chocolate lr. or maybe portabello, i saw the pics from the dream home and thought the colors were beautiful.
Latte looks beautiful with reds and chocolates. It's really a neutral beige that doesn't have a lot of undertones in most people's houses. And Portabello is one of our favorite browns. And the most recommended.
