Young girl and boy's rooms - suggest nice paint colours? Sign In/Join
posted
I have a 6 yr old boy and he says he wants his walls blue. It's so hard to tell what colors will look like on the walls - any suggestions?

Also, I have a 4 yr old girl. She wants pink or purple - suggestions?

Thanks.

A new comforter in their desired colors will dictate their wall colors. Involve them in selecting this, but don't get too themey as kids soon outgrow their tastes. Factor in the room's lighting, furnishings, flooring and grim. View chips in the lighting conditions of their rooms. If still unsure, then narrow your choices down to 2, buy sample sizes and paint a test board to view over several days and nights.

That's your answer, within your post, chaton. If you've found your inspiration items and narrowed your choices down to particular color shades, then you'll need to try 2-3 samples on the wall, checking them in various lights, at various times of the day.

If you purchase major brands (they have frequent paint sales, BTW), you should find sufficient palettes to find any shade/tone that will satisfy your needs, e.g. Behr, SW, BM, etc...
