I am looking for suggestions on wall color for my small one bedroom apartment. I have choose Behr Asparagus 410D-4 for my bedroom starting with a copper painted old metal bed full size with one window. The room is long so I will need to place my bed in front of the window. The living room I am looking at Sherwin Williams 6655 Adventure Orange. It has a double window and a glass door that goes to patio with one solid wall. It also combines with the kitchen separated by a counter bar. No furniture picked yet for living room. I would like to paint the kitchen a yellow. The apartment has white walls. Do I paint all the walls or do I just paint an accent wall. If just an accent wall what wall do i paint? The solid wall or the walls with the windows? Thank you all in advance.....
Wow! Those colors sure are bold for a small apartment. And as each room has a different color there is no flow. Perhaps, if you really are set on those colors, you might at least consider a lighter shade of them. As for a statement wall? Forget it. More colors. It will start to look like a crayola crayon box. A statement wall is where one wishes to draw attention to that particualr space. Perhaps they want to highlight a painting or a large TV or maybe a furniture setting. If you have that in mind, you could paint all the walls white (or cream) and do the orange on your statement wall -- the one you want to focus on and then carry the cream color through to the kitchen. Being that the apartment is so small, you might just want to tone down the colors and pick up those colors in accessories, throw pillows, area rug and such instead. Don't be angry with me. You asked and I have to be honest with you. Of course, this is only my opinion. This message has been edited. Last edited by: arepo,

No, I didn't say that. Read my post again. I think a statement wall would be fine with either white or cream walls, it is just that you don't just choose to have a statement wall for no reason. It is normally to highlight a particular reason -- like a painting, a special furniture setting, etc. There is no problem with you using the orange wall with the white/cream walls. Go for it.

Thought you were doing an all black and white theme? (see earlier post)

Neutrals are the best choice for capital improvements like tile, carpet, granite, etc.. Gray if you like vibrant accents, Beige if you like earthy accents. Both Black and White can show their age, like dirt, scratches, touch ups. So unless you are a really careful home owner be forewarned.

Too loud for my taste. I much prefer the black and white idea better.
