I could use some suggestions on paint colors for my guest bedroom. The bed, dresser, and nightstands are black and the bedding is West Elm Ironwork Duvet. The bedside lamps have oatmeal covered shades. The West Elm photo (below) shows Newburg Green, which I think is too dark for my liking, but I'm open to suggestions. Any help appreciated!
Thanks, Kay

WELCOME! Kay, I like the Newburg Green, but you have to factor in the room's lighting. You could beef up the artifical lighting while maximizing what natural lighting the room gets. A dark wall color receeds and is cozy for a bedroom. White molding is in crisp contrast to richly saturated walls if white trim is present in your room. Metals and other reflective surfaces (glass/mirror/ceramics) act as jewelry in dark hue spaces.
If you still aren't convinced a dark wall color is to your liking, carry a sham with you to your favorite paint store for color matching. The pattern duvet appears lighter than the wall color so you might opt to match it for the walls for a monochromatic/restful space. Optionally, one darker wall behind the bed won't overpower the space while remaining walls could be a hue value or two lighter.

I too like the newburg green but would suggest you consider a lighter one on the same swatch so as not to overwhelm a small room. Perhaps the newburg green for the headboard wall and a lighter version on the other walls. This message has been edited. Last edited by: arepo,

Had the same thought WRT a Newburg/darker focal wall plus 3 lighter walls. With Newburg, you have the option of going more blue or green as you move down the BM paint chip, if you want to lighten the space.
Do you have a patterned rug or other inspiration item for the room? Any accent colors? If not, the BM website has a few options, including a light gold, light green and various tans.
If your particular beige doesn't coordinate with anything, including the various BM options, you might consider replacing the lampshades with the duvet's white/cream color or matching the Newburg.
I would definitely select a metal, too and consider using some reflective mirrors. Silver popped into my head but you definitely have options.
