I'm looking to paint my familyroom and kitchen a sage green. I usually use Benjamin Moore paints. Can someone lead me in the direction of a nice color. I don't want it too dark and more of a calm sage. Thanks!
I'm sure you already considered this, Betsy, but if you've used BM paints in the other rooms, can you pull a few sage paint chips from the same family?
It's very difficult, IMHO, to select paint colors without being on site. For one thing, the light exposure in each room makes a huge difference. The shades appear differently, depending on the exposure. In addition, you'll want the colors to flow from room to room. Staying within the previous BM paint chip should take care of that.
So, I would choose a few off the chip at either the store or on the website. Then, I would purchase a few samples and paint a small square on each wall to compare and contrast the shades. If it were my home, I'd probably select 2 different shades for the 2 rooms. Depending on your cabinets and the light, I might go darker in the kitchen.
Sorry for the long answer, Betsy. Probably said what everyone already understands. If you'd like to shoot a few photos in response, I'd be happy to make an attempt. Don't feel as if anyone can do it properly w/o being there, however.
