BM Audubon Russet Mixed at 50% Sign In/Join

Hi. Audubon Russet is the exact color that I am trying to pick up in my bedding. However, I live in Seattle (rain and gloom!) and would like to lighten this shade. The guy at the BM store told me there was no telling how this color would turn out mixed at 50%. I am wondering if any of you color experts out there would have any idea if this might turn this color pink. I am going to post some pics of my bedroom as soon as the sun comes out so you can actually see the colors! Thank you so much for any suggestions.

Pam, when I pulled it up on the BM site, the lighter shades do appear pinky. How about using the Swans Mill Cream (#260) on 3 walls and audubon russet for an accent wall? Say behind your bed/headboard? Don't know if you considered that option -

In the meantime, I'll look forward to checking out your pix.

Good Luck!

P.S. The guy at the BM store couldn't simply mix together a small sample in order to make a sale and please a customer? Personally, I'd consider another retailer but perhaps you've previously had good luck with them and need to maintain the color flow within the home. We use Behr from HD, BTW.

Astroluvr, thanks for responding so quick! I looked at the Swans Mill Cream online just now--very pretty color. I have Laura Ashley Pale Gold 2 on all my walls right now. Do you think that would work with the Russet? Anyway, promise those pictures tomorrow. The weather forecast says sun! Trust me, when it's rainy here, colors in pictures do not show up well at all. Again, thanks!

Haven't seen your pix but no worries - perhaps it was cloudy in Seattle.

I checked out the pale gold 2 and it's a beautiful color. You'd definitely want to test it but it probably would look terrific with your russet.

One thing, however - saw some pix of someone who'd used it in multiple rooms. It read much darker (more yellowy) in the darkest rooms. So, that concerns me b/c of your location and light situation.

If this were my room, I would definitely lean towards the cream on 3 walls. If your goal is to highlight your bedcover, using 3 neutral walls with a darker/deeper color on 1 wall (b/c of the higher contrast between the 2 colors) will draw the eye to the accent wall/the bedcover.

Besides that, given your light situation, the cream may read as slightly darker, i.e. gold (?) (typed a ? b/c you'll want to test all the colors together in your exposure). BTW, I can understand you might want to only have to paint the one wall. Don't know when you painted the gold but, if you have the time, it'd probably be preferable to update the entire room.

I'll check back for your pix. Have a great Memorial Day!

Okay, not so sure about the accent wall. I have one in my LR and not so fond of it. Every shade I find with the Russet hue in it looks pinkish. Anyone know of a nice light russet shade that doesn't come across as pink or too dark? I am thinking I might have to head in the direction of the green in the bedding. Sage has never been my favorite color. Any ideas on a pretty sage that's not olivey. The problem is that most days my room is dark. The pics I am attaching show the room on a sunny day. Any and all ideas would be appreciated. Also, ignore the dated furniture. It's next to go. Thanks.

One more. I know I'm not doing this right. Is there a way to get all the pics on one post?
