I am going to paint my living room. I originally wanted a creamy beige color for the walls. I finally figured out why I could never find a paint that looked like the sample once it was applied. I have large windows and everything outside is green....large trees as well as the grass and they are turning everything wonky. I get a shade of green no matter what color I put on the walls. Am I doomed to green walls? Thanks for your input. I just never saw anyone talk about this problem before.

Yes, lighting plays a huge roll in a wall color's read as do it's surroundings, not to mention the color's composition and the undertones it reveals under different lighting. Check to see if there is a cool color added to the color you've selected for the walls. Note too what other colors are present in the space. Also, if your paint has a degree of sheen, it will reflect surrounding colors.

What you might try is hanging ecru, golden, yellow or cream sheers over the windows coupled with your drapery. Sunlight filtered thru the sheers will cast a warm glow onto walls vs a cool green from outside foliage during daylight hours.
