You asked about my Christmas quilts,so I took this photo for you. It's most of my large quilts, with the exception of those that are on bed, walls, folded over railings, stuffed in closets, etc.

The Christmas quilts are mostly in the far right cabinet.

Hope you like them!

Ann

I've said it before. I'm in absolute awe of your talent and industriousness. I think I spy one of my favorites of the ones you've shown us in the middle cabinet...the one with autumn leaves.

I love love love your quilt collection! We are planning a farm wedding for next October and plan to have quilt-covered hay bales for guest seating. Of course, I'm on the hunt for gently used quilts that won't be a tragedy if damaged. These are just beautiful. Thank you for sharing!

Gorgeous! I've got to show this to DH. I've asked him a couple of times to build a quilt cabinet. This is very similar to what I had in mind.

Thank you everybody, your comments are all so nice!

Gracie, that autumn quilt is also one of my favorites. It's from Primitive Gatherings fall book, about two years ago, if you would like to make one.

Mallory, your wedding sounds perfect to me, good luck in finding the quilts. I visited Country Threads quilt shop in Garner, Iowa several years ago, and they had just had a wedding (one of the owners) in the barn. All the bales of straw were covered with lap quilts. Maybe they would rent them to you?

Sherry, I hope you have better luck than I do with getting things built!

LOL Probably not...took three years from the time I showed DH a picture of a cutting table until I got it. One year he drafted the design and pattern. Next year he got all the wood cut an dry-fitted. The next year...he put the finish on it. But it is GORGEOUS!

That is the most awesome collection of quilts I have ever seen. Going to send pics to my sister!

How many quilts have you made Annon? Do you hand quilt them? They are very impressive

FF Girl....what did you buy at Country threads? I've only been there once, very fun!

LOS, thank you! I hope your sister enjoys the picture. I did take a photo of each individual cabinet if she would like a closer look.

I've made a LOT of quilts, surely over 300 as I've been enjoying this hobby for about thirty years. I used to hand quilt everything, but two years ago I bought a large throat sewing machine and have been doing quite a bit of machine quilting, especially the quilts I give away. No one wants to wait a year for me to finish their quilt, lol!

I give a lot of quilts away. Mostly to family and friends, but the last five years I've been making quilts for wounded soldiers, and also baby quilts for babies born to soldiers on our military base. I try to get everyone "covered"!

I have a hand quilting frame in my family room and I always have a large quilt there, ready to stitch at any small amount of free time. My husband likes to tell people we live in a padded house, lol! He is correct, and I'm sure there are people that think I need it.

I appreciate everyone's nice comments, thank you.

Ann, I picked up a couple of applique patterns and a punch needle kit. It intrigued me and looks like its going to be fun. I've started on it and although not making perfect loops, they are getting better.

That was my first time to Country Threads also. Had I known it was so close to friends, I'd have been there years ago!!

Are you on the Quilting & Needlework Forum here on HGTV? If not, please come over and join us. There's lots of wonderful folks over there.

Country threads is a fun place! I've been tempted to try punch needle, but haven't yet. I saw a tiny Christmas tree skirt that was adorable.

I do post on the quilting board from time to time, but mostly just read. I enjoy the quilt talk and show n tell, but not really into the swaps and get togethers. I can barely keep up with my weekly group, lol!

Ann, I thought I remembered seeing you there on occasion. I don't do the swaps either but I join in the chatter and absolutely love our mini-retreat at Magnolia. Wouldn't miss one of them for anything.

I've learned to just skip over what doesn't interest me (a lot of stuff) and enjoy the other stuff.

KYIS, I tried to scan and post a drawing I made of the cabinets. Clearly I don't know how, lol! If you want to PM me with your home address I'll be glad to send it to you.

For now, the measurements are: height: 78", width, 52.5" (including decorative top edge) 49.75" without, shelves 24" X 13" (2 shelves wide with a center divide, 10" between shelves.

I hope you get your cabinets!

Annon, I don't even quilt, although I do sew, but your cabinet is so gorgeous as are all the quilts in it. I don't live very far from Garner (I'm in AZ right now) and didn't know that it even existed. I may get interested in quilting because we are going to live in one of those 55 plus communities soon.
