I was in MICHAEL's and they have skulls, rats, bats, and little wooden coffins...ick; I don't like that scary stuff!

I like the cute black kitties, etc.

How 'bout you!

I stick to autumn decor that can transition right through to the holidays. However, I do add some creepy spiders and a crow to the wreath on my front door during Halloween week.

I'm a pumpkin/bittersweet girl. Nothing special for Halloween.

Yep, if I'm going to decorate it is going to be spooky.

Just got a really big spider today at the Xmas tree Shoppe and I know it will be a winner because it scared at least three other shoppers!

I like friendly/spooky Halloween-things like ghosts, pumpkins, spiders, owls, black cats. What I don't like is gore and horror. Can't stand that, and I don't really see what it has to do with the holiday.

Well of course it has to do with ALl hollows EVe which is prayers for souls so thus involves dead bodies in all states of decay or whatever human societies have envisioned about dead bodies (Frankenstein, Legend of Sleepy Hollow, ghosts, witches with their black cats etc)

Speaking of Sleepy Hollow, we have been to Tarrytown N.Y. at Halloween and they really go all out with bonfires and the headless horseman riding by and fake graves and ghostly dances.

Actually all of Westchester county seems to have very elaborate and sometimes frightening displays at private homes. Things like bowls full of eyeballs, limbs coming out of things etc.

Many years ago one of my sisters answered the doorbell on Halloween and saw propped up in front of her a kid in a casket! Imagine his friends and him carrying that all through the streets!

My Dad used to tell stories of the terrible pranks boys played in his childhood. Think we are actually much tamer now.

It used to be my favorite holiday! Any and all decor, but especially really scary stuff. The kids came from all around to be scared in our neighborhood. Commonly got 80-90 kids back a decade or two.

Unfortunately we just get a few T or T's now and not worth the effort to decorate. Darn.

Haven't started getting stuff out yet. Do enjoy putting a few things out. We get a lot of T or T ers. Usually around a hundred. If cold and raining not so many. School nights don't seem to be a problem.
