That was fun; I found wooden ornaments I painted about 20 yrs. ago, a hand made tree skirt from DD, a couple of cross-stitched things I had made, our Christmas stockings and best of all, a hand made little wooden sleigh made for me by DS when he was in grade school!

We have moved so much and also snowbirded over holidays that I have not had a tree in years.

This year I plan a 'formal' tree in the living dining area and a little fun 'desk' tree for my hobby room...it will have all the wooden ornament that I painted. I would like to find an aqua-color tree and put white lights on it orrr a white tree w/aqua lights. I'll be shopping thrift stores for my trees and spray paint the color I want. The too-green, too expensive store bought trees won't really fit in my FL house Smile

I know it's early to talk about Christmas, but since I found that tote, I'm excited...ha!

ps: found couple boxes of on-sale Christmas cards...won't need to buy any cards for a few years!!! Mainly use them to put the Christmas check into...ha!

It's always fun to find things that you haven't seen or thought about in years. And your find that your DS made is priceless. Last weekend was going through a box and found Christmas stamps and cards. The stamps were 37 cents. Will use them this year but will have to add an extra stamp or 2!

What a wonderful find! And it is never too early to talk about Christmas especially if you have to find those bargain things.

"I know it's too early to talk about Christmas"

It's NEVER too early!

Metwo, thanks for repeating my thoughts as I read CJO's comment.

Hub is planning on building a larger shed with rafters. I've already made dibs on some for storing Christmas tree & ornaments. Woohoo! Every 25th of each month....I consider how many months till Dec.

While I object to general retailers displaying Christmas far too early, I do NOT object to a craft supply place having it year around. We have to get our creative juices flowing with some inspiration. Smile

I LOVE Michaels for their Christmas craft items. So, so beautiful. I swear I want one (or more) of all the gorgeous sparkly Christmas stuff they sell.

It's never too early to put the Christmas crafting supplies. It takes time to get our "love made" gifts ready for family and friends.

I DO agree with metwo about retailers displaying Christmas too early. We DO shop with Christmas in mind throughout the year...we don't need the décor early. Crafters know what they want. It's noncrafters who put things up last minute and need help. lol
