Unique Christmas Ornament Ideas? Sign In/Join

Any ideas on unique ornament ideas? I have tried making them on my own, but they never come out right! Bought some organic ornaments from a Fair Trade Shop, which were nice. We ditched the live cut Christmas tree and are just going with a small potted evergreen and a wooden Festive Tree we bought last year, so need something different. www.festivetree.com for a idea of what it looks like.

Thanks for any ideas or pictures. I did get some great wreath ideas from HGTV last year, so I am sure some cool things will emerge!

A good place to look for unique and affordable ornaments is on Etsy. You can find lots of amazing artisan type tree hangings - some made in South America and Africa, which are beautiful. I bought some organic, woven ones from a store on that site -sorry don't remember which.

I like your tree. I actually have a metal sculpture tree in my foyer. Those ornaments you have look nice - sometmes traditional really does work!

If you have children, grandchildren, pets use the decorative frames.

Late reply but I have made several different and unique ideas that I have used in the past.
1. If you can find them, take some milkweed pods, open and clean them out then spray them gold add some sequines or other items and glue a gold ribbon on top to hang them with. 2. collect pine cones and spray them with glitterpaint.I have also decorated a tree with popcorn and craneberries that I have strung, then added the old fashioned paperchains that we used to make in school, along with some gingerbread cookies and candycanes. And one year, I found a couple of books of Victoria Paperdolls so I cut out all the clothes, put some gold cord on each outfit and used them as decorations on my tree. For all of these trees, I used the small non blinking white lights.
My sister, who puts up a number of trees each year puts one in her kitchen which she decorates with all the miniture kitchen equiptment(like for a doll house)thawt she can find. then she winds long peices of red and green ribbon around the tree.
HTH,
Mary

Wonder where I could find that tree pattern? That is interesting. I'd like to make one.

Have you seen how sparkly the NEW spinners are in a tackle box? Just be forewarned, they won't go unnoticed by the fisherman/woman in your life and will be wanting to know if they'll be put back in the right place when the holiday season is over. : )

LOVE, love, love the pink fishing lure for the newest member of our family. When I bought it from one of the major outdoor sporting goods stores, I got a raised eyebrow for its purpose. Who says pink aren't in those outdoor sporting goods stores!

Wishing everyone a very Merry Joyous Christmas!
