Has anyone else noticed that the Christmas music on the car radio is just awful? I have two XM radio stations that play Christmas music and it's just not pleasant.

I play my own CD's so I didn't notice. I love Christmas music but wait until after Thanksgiving to start playing it!

I've made my own playlist in iTunes and that's what I listen to, so I can't say that I've noticed any commercial playlists.

I agree about horrible music on XM/Serius radio,
what ever happened to Holly Jolly Christmas and the other 'classics" ?

This junk is NOT putting me into any shopping mood at all and you can't relax while driving and sing a long either!

Books on CD are always my year round driving "entertainment".
I get enough of the Xmas music just in the grocery store. Wink

I don't have XM, so I cannot comment. In fact, I don't even have satellite radio in my car.

At home I have a wonderful satellite radio service (Music Choice) through my cable TV provider. It has two channels for holiday music: one is Holiday Songs, which features contemporary and pop classics for Christmas, and the other is Seasonal Music, which is more traditional in nature.

I also like to play holiday songs on CD. But, my favorite source for Christmas music is my local public radio station, which plays classical music. On Christmas Eve, they always play the entire Handel's Messiah oratorio, and I sing out loud --and very badly -- to the Hallelujah Chorus.

Well, I have to take back my comment. There was actually some good music on XM's "Holly" yesterday morning when I went out to run an errand. And this morning, too.

I have tons of Christmas CDS, though, so I need to pull them out and put some in the car and take some to work to listen to!

The music on 4 is really old, lots of the songs are from the 40's. 17 is better but they play the same songs over and over again. There are dozens of songs that they don't play at all. I'm not happy with the Sirius Christmas play list.
